What’s a Superbowl Party without a dip? The answer is nothing. If you walk into a Super Bowl party this weekend and don’t see a dip on the table, you have the right, frankly the OBLIGATION, to walk right out that door. Blasphemy I tell you.
So, clearly I feel strongly about dips. Always have. There will be two kinds of dips at my Super Bowl party this weekend – one classic onion dip, and one Buffalo Chicken Dip. That’s where this blog post comes in, so sit back and start dreaming about blue cheese, hot sauce and more cheese.
My good friend’s mom Cathryn had the 411 on party planning before the Internet, Pinterest and Etsy ever thought about existing. When we were in high school, Cathryn would send my friend to school with holiday themed lunches – I’m talking Poland Spring bottles of green-tinted water for St. Patrick’s Day. She didn’t need Pinterest. She IS Pinterest. So, I’m honored to bring you her Super Bowl-worthy Buffalo Chicken Dip.
Cathryn’s Buffalo Chicken Dip
Ingredients:
1 8oz package cream cheese
2 cups of cooked chicken, shredded (I use a rotisserie chicken)
1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
2 TBS butter, melted
1/2 cup blue cheese salad dressing
1/4 to 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Dash or 2 of hot sauce
Directions:
Cover the bottom of an 8×8 dish or pie plate with softened cream cheese.
Cover the bottom of an 8×8 dish or pie plate with softened cream cheese.
In a bowl mix all of the other ingredients and add to dish.
Heat in 300* oven for 25-30 minutes.
Serve with chips of your choosing and dip until your little heart’s content.
So come on. Make Cathryn proud. Make your guests proud. Make YOURSELF proud and serve this dip on Sunday. At least if your team loses you’ll be a winner in the eyes of your party guests – Holla!
