Blue and Pink Baby Shower

August 21, 2013 By Jackie Fo 1 Comment

Babies are such a wonderful reason to celebrate, don’t you agree? So when there are two babes involved, it’s double the reason to have a fabulous baby shower! When a client asked me to help plan and design a pink and blue baby shower for her daughters twins, I jumped on board!
With some of Charlotte’s best vendors involved, the shower was guaranteed to be a success. But I’ll let you be the judge 😉
Full vendor list at the end of the post.

My client wanted each baby to be represented, which presented a bit of a challenge. Things are easier to find in pink than in blue, but we were able to find an alternating tablecloth pattern that really complimented each other. We had white and pink chevron tables with blue napkins and blue tablecloths with pink and white chevron napkins. It was totes perfection!

Inside the napkin was a menu card and a chocolate lollipop tucked carefully into a polka dot ribbon.

Walking in, the room was a sea of blue and pink, complete with tissue poms hanging over the guest of honor’s table.

Poms were also used to decorate other areas that needed a pop of color. The poms sat on top of clear vases which were a great way to display them.
The mama-to-be’s chair was highlighted with a pink and blue mini pom garland.

Gorgeous pink and blue flowers decorated the tables.
Flowers lined the mantel above the dessert table and seriously – they were simply amazing!

Speaking of the dessert table, OMG it was perfect. There were polka dot onesie cookies.

Mini key lime pies.

Cupcakes.

Blue Cake Pops.
And can we talk about the onesies? The elephant with the blue and pink hearts?
And I LOVE the onesies that spell out Twins!
The guests went home with pink and blue taffy and custom soaps from Etsy.
And they were able to give thew new mom advice with polka dot tags hanging from a wishing tree.
Vendors:
Venue: Myers Park Country Club
Desserts: Myers Park Country Club Pastry Chef
Flowers: Elizabeth House
Rentals: Party Reflections
Tissue Poms: Melody’s Pom Shop

This shower was SO much fun to plan and Myers Park Country Club was amazing to work with. I’d plan a shower like this every weekend if I could! Coming up later this week, I’m going to do a full recap of the mini-tri … it was such a blast and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Laurie & Matt Wedding Photos!

August 16, 2013 By Jackie Fo 2 Comments

How about a beautiful, happy couple on the blog for your Friday? I think that would be a great start to your weekend! You may remember a little preview of Laurie and Matt’s April wedding a few months back. I showed you my very best of the iPhone photos I snapped that beautiful evening, but now we’ve got the professional photos from the absolutely fabulous Liza Cox Photography. Getting the professional photos back is like the icing on the cake after a wedding! Liza did such an amazing job capturing the evening and how happy Laurie and Matt were. Without further ado, here’s the lovely wedding of Laurie and Matt. (Full vendor credits at the bottom of the post.)
Laurie’s dress was absolutely stunning. All the layers on the train made it look like she was almost floating – it was just gorgeous!

The girls got ready at the Ritz which has beautiful city views. It made for the perfect backdrop for her beautiful brooch bouquet which included a special family brooch.

Let’s give the handsome guys some love with this serious action shot! These guys mean business.

I absolutely LOVED the boutonnieres.
The ceremony was held at Byrons in the Atrium and I loved the set-up.

Laurie and Matt giggled here when he stomped on the glass. It was a sweet and charming moment for the happy couple.
Byrons has the most perfect brick alley for post-ceremony photos. The wedding party had such a fun time posing and looked totes professional.

My favorite post ceremony photo that just makes me giggle is this one. If you’ve ever been in a wedding you know how hard it is to tie a bustle! This photo should be titled:

How many bridesmaids does it take to do a bustle?!

Look at how pretty this photo is – they look like bride and groom models! And I have to say, I LOVE the bustle. Some bustles look weird. This one looked perfect.
Byrons was set up beautifully for the reception. The flowers from Jay at In Bloom were gorgeous!

Oh… the cake. Made by the grooms sister, Haines from For Goodness Cakes, this was a stunner.

Speaking of sweets, to highlight the couples love for chocolate, we created a chocolate bar with six different kinds of chocolate for guests to sample and take home. It was an absolute hit, I think almost all the chocolate was completely gone! I can still taste the white chocolate….I had to sample the product to make sure it was okay for the guests 🙂

I love their guestbook where guests wrote directly on the “P” for the couples last name. So creative!

Their perfect party getaway was lined with glo-sticks!

The couple left the party on the light rail and the photographer got some amazing shots of them waiting for the light rail and on the light rail! I loved these photos because I never got to see this part in person and they are so, so sweet!
I love the photos when Laurie is wearing Matt’s jacket. So gentlemanly!
Here comes the light rail!

Here they are just chilling with other folks on the light rail. Wouldn’t you be delighted if you saw this happy couple on your way home? Side note, look at her cute shoes peeking out!

This couple was such a blessing to get to know, and I know Laurie and I will be friends for a long time to come. In fact, we recently spent a delightful evening together eating sushi and drinking wine with her sister who is also fabulous. It’s like I got to be friends with the whole family! I love when that happens.
This weekend is a doozy for me. I’ve got a fancy baby shower I’m setting up for tomorrow and then I leave town for my mini-triathalon right after that. Eeek! Can you say nervous?! I hope I finish and don’t drown, crash or fall. Ha!
Here’s some crafting I did (with the help of my sis-in-law) for baby shower:
And here are my tri-training partners with our sweet goggles.
Wish me luck this weekend – can’t wait to report back next week!

Pink and Gold Baptism

August 1, 2013 By Jackie Fo Leave a Comment

Sometimes it’s felt like so long since I’ve written a blog I don’t know how to start. So I’m going to start with some random thoughts.
I just came back from the beach with my sweet mom and it was such a wonderful trip. More on that later.
August is a super busy month for me so I’m feeling a bit crazed. Again, more on that later.
In the meantime, I’m going to show you the beautiful baptism for my 2nd adorable niece, Claire.
One of my favorite parties I ever planned was for my older niece Brooke’s baptism. It was just so simple and sweet!
For Claire’s baptism after-party (yup that’s right, she had an after-party), we obv stuck with pink but added in gold chevron and burlap elements. It was a lovely affair to celebrate a truly precious little babe!
It’s a baptism fact that you can’t have a true baptism without a Mimosa Bar. It’s true.
For juices, we used cranberry, grapefruit (my all-time fave) and tried and true orange juice. Burlap flowers from Michaels were used to adorn the glass jugs.
For those not imbibing, pink lemonade with mint leaves was served in a pretty glass dispenser. The gold and white chevron paper came from Paper Source and it was used as runners. Paper Source has the best patterned papers; I heart that store.
We hang poms above the drink table, which is always such a great touch!

Drew found a great Etsy shop, Kilbi Branch Designs, that created a beautiful wreath and tied the silverwear with these fun ribbons.

Little Claire’s picture and her fabulous invitation by Party Box Design were displayed.

Food was catered by one of my favorite companies, Plate Perfect Catering. They did a great job with the brunch menu including a simply fabulous waffle bar. I wish I had a waffle bar at my disposal everyday!

There was a beautiful cake and donut holes for dessert. The perfect ending to a sweet day!

Here I am with the little babe. I have to say she is the most smiley, happiest baby I’ve ever met! She let basically everyone at the baptism hold her and she just smiled the whole time. What. A. Doll.

This month is cray for me, with a big event this weekend, fancy baby shower, mini-triathalon and a wedding. Yikes! But it’s all good, I like being busy and go a little crazy when I’m not busy. Just ask Mr. Fo.
This weekend’s event is a really cool event; a Film Festival that raises money for pediatric cancers. It’s been a lot of work over the past year and I’m looking forward to seeing it come together. You can read about the event HERE.
I’ll be back next week to report on my fabulous beach trip, the film festival and anything else fun that pops up! Here’s a beautiful shot from my trip to close this post out on a lovely note:
