Here’s what I think of when I think of fall:
Yes, weddings….In the beautiful Carolinas, it is hot as H-E-double hockey sticks in the summer months but picture perfect in the lovely fall months, making it prime wedding time for wedding planners like me. People are always surprised that my busy season isn’t during summer but I promise, if you’ve ever been to an outdoor wedding in the south in July, you’d know why the fall is a more popular time to get hitched. Sweating in a bridesmaid dress is not attractive (I know this from experience.)
You could say that Mr. Fo and I started this Fall-weather wedding trend 7 years ago on October 25th when we got married on a beautiful fall day in Charlotte…or you could say “holy crap we got married 7 years ago, we’re old.” Happy anniversary to us, btw 🙂
Anywho, that’s why I’ve been a little absent from the blog, it’s been all weddings all the time for me the past month and a half. But for now, here’s a peek into some things I’ve been up to lately!
For something a little more kid-friendly on Halloween, here’s an easy homemade Candy Corn flavored lollipop!
You could make yourself that baked brie, Halloween cocktail and finish it off with a homemade candy corn lollipop and you could have a reaaaal good time.
Here’s a preview pic of one of my latest weddings. This beautiful couple had a stunning setting at a private home unfortunately coupled with 100% rain in the forecast. We worked out the rain sitch with a last minute tent and a happy couple who didn’t really care what the weather was, as long as
I will close with a miscellaneous and timely fun fact. Did you know you can get a flu shot at Harris Teeter’s pharmacy? For those of you that don’t know, Harris Teeter is a fantastic grocery store chain in the Southeast. That means that I got a flu shot the same time I picked up my new fave Pumpkin Pie Spice Creamer for my coffee. Plus I got a $5 off coupon just for getting my flu shot there, which basically paid for my (artificially flavored and too high in sugar) pumpkin creamer.
Medicine + Pumpkin Stuff + Coupons all during one grocery trip = America at it’s finest.
This week I’m prepping for a wedding this weekend plus two more in November before I close out my busy season. After that I’ll be saying “I do” to some serious R&R during the holidays and I hope you will be doing the same!
Have a great week!!
Well a belated happy anniversary to you and your husband! Fall weddings are definitely beautiful. I bet yours was truly gorgeous!
