It’s (almost) officially summer – yay! One of my favorite summertime things to do is enjoy a cocktail on one of Charlotte’s many outdoor patios. Not going to lie, sometimes I need to wait until the blazing sun goes down but hey, some might say that’s a more appropriate time to have a cocktail anyways! It’s hard to choose, but thanks to the #designcharlotte campaign I’m showing you my three favorites!
Vivace – Midtown Charlotte in the Metropolitan
Located right outside Uptown Charlotte, this beautiful retstaurant boasts delicious Italian food, creative cocktails and of course, a gorgeous outdoor patio. The large patio has comfy seating and overlooks the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, so when you’re imbibing and eating pizza you can watch people run. Ha!
Common Market – South End
The Common Market is anything but common. With locations in both Plaza Midwood and South End, Common Market offers excellent sandwiches, a funky atmosphere and local brews galore. Their patio in South End is covered by shady trees and always filled with live music and interesting people. Plus theres free wi-fi so if you’re a small business owner like me whose always on the hunt for wi-fi, you can work AND have an ice cold beer. Score! Don’t you want to chill here like this guy?
VBGB – NC Music Factory
I absolutely LOVE my final choice for best patios. VBGB is the ultimate beer garden and the perfect place for having a beer before a concert at one of the venues in the NC Music Factory. With long beer tables, giant checkers and Jenga games plus live music and an outdoor movie screen, VBGB’s patio just screams summer fun! Not to mention their extensive local brews list. VBGB is a great, affordable location for rehearsal dinners, birthday parties and other fun events. Plus, have you tried the pretzels?
Here I am celebrating my hubby’s bday on the patio a few years ago…
And here’s a fun VBGB rehearsal dinner for one of my past brides.
So there you have it – my top three patio spots in Charlotte for having a drink this summer! Thanks to the #designcharlotte campaign for making me shout out these fab spots. Don’t forget to highlight your favorite Charlotte hot spots and activities using the #designcharlotte hashtag!
