Michaelia and Clay: Fall Wedding – Ritz Urban Garden, Charlotte, NC

October 17, 2018 By Jackie Fo Leave a Comment

Michaelia and Clay: Where can I begin! These two were so in love, had a really unique style and were absolutely gorgeous to boot! I loved literally everything about their wedding day, but here are a few of my favorite things (in no particular order):

  • Rich color palette
  • Stunning florals
  • Custom gobo lighting that gave their guests a huge WOW factor as they entered the reception!
  • Mismatched bridesmaids dresses done perfectly
  • Did I mention these two are not too shabby to look at?

Also, I dare you to find a better First Look moment – see first photo below!

We had a ball transforming this modern, neutral space into a uniquely elegant reception space with stunning fall colors.

Thanks to my boo Lori with Capture Me Candid for the beautiful photos.

Full vendor list at the bottom of this post.

ENJOY!

Lauren and Peter: Intimate Outdoor Wedding

November 18, 2015 By Jackie Fo Leave a Comment

And that’s a wrap folks. I’m talking about my 2015 wedding season. I had my very last wedding of the year this past weekend.  If you’ll allow me to induldge for a moment, 2015 has been my most successful year yet and I keep thinking back on all the fun weddings from the year. The fall wedding season nearly killed me (Read: Exaggeration level high) but it feels amazing to work so hard and produce so many beautiful weddings for kind, appreciative and happy clients.

As I shift focus to start preparing for 2016 weddings, I’m going to spend the next couple weeks sharing my fall weddings with you on the blog. First up is Lauren and Peter, and I’m so excited to share these gorgeous photos from Smith Photos & Ink. Photographers Jessica and her husband are from Charleston and were an absolute pleasure to work with! A full vendor list is at the bottom of this post.

Let me start by telling you a little something about our beautiful bride Lauren. After meeting Lauren for 5 minutes, I knew I would love to work with her. She was so laid back, fun and knew exactly what she wanted for her big day. Oh, and have you seen her hair? Luckily she picked me and a friendship was made. I see many shared bottles of wine in our future!

Lauren and Peter’s wedding was an intimate affair held at a family friends home. To clarify, it was an absolutely stunning home with a magazine-worthy backyard. The wedding was to be held in said stunning backyard, but unfortunately Mother Nature had a different idea that involved rain, rain and more rain….all the live long day.

Pause blog for a Wedding Planning PSA: When planning an outdoor affair, there has to be at least one conversation about the possibility of rain and a rain plan must be sketched out. No one wants to talk about the dirty “R” word, but it has to be done.

Luckily, Lauren and I and my fab friend Lynsey from Party Reflections had previously come up with a rain plan (see above PSA) so we were able to implement this plan once we saw the weather report. A tent was put up in the driveway, cute clear umbrellas were purchased and we rolled with it. Lauren, being Lauren, was calm and trusting. With a little extra planning, we laughed in the face of this rainy day and had a badass wedding anyways. In hindsight, the tent plan worked out wonderfully and the yard had enough covered space to accommodate everyone.  Lauren and Peter were so darn happy it just didn’t matter what the weather was and a grand time was had by all. Let’s take a look at their happy day, shall we?

First off, Lauren’s dress was one of the most beautiful I’ve seen to date. And as you can image, I’ve seen a lot of wedding dresses. Can we talk about this train/long veil combo?

As they say, “I literally can’t even…”

Guests patiently waited for the festivities to begin!

Lauren and her dad had a few steps to walk down to get to the ceremony. The ceremony was held in a beautiful stone pavillion on the property which was then flipped into a dance floor for the reception.

Lauren’s handsome groom is waiting for her!

Now that’s a first kiss!

I love the happiness in this picture. And also, I can’t neglect to mention the chandelier which is also amazeballs. The whole ceremony setting was perfectly cozy. There was even a fire burning!

After the knot was officially tied, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour (including mini biscuits and Bourbon Slushies, umm yes please) on the beautiful double decker porch.

After cocktail hour, guests were escorted into the tent for dinner.  Farm tables and beautiful linens complete with simple florals and lots of candles created the perfect cozy ambience.

Instead of a traditional cake, Lauren and Peter opted for a donut truck from Sugar Handmade Gourmet Donuts. People were loving this cute purple truck… and the donuts…OMG. If you’re in Charlotte, I highly suggest checking out their Maple Bacon Donut, especially when it comes warm right out of the fryer. Don’t blame me when you’re addicted.

After everyone was pleasantly stuffed with warm donuts, they took to the dance floor.

And because it’s college football season and the groom is a Studio Host for Espn’s SEC Network, you know the crowd would find a way to watch a little football.

Unfortunately the night had to end, but it ended with a fantastic sparkler send off.

Lauren+Peter-630

I can honestly say this was one of my most fun weddings to date! From the setting, to the happy couple, to the guests, everything was simply perfect.

Lauren and Peter, you were such a joy to work with and your happiness is evident from the big smiles on your faces! I wish you many sunny days ahead and a lifetime of laughter!

Fall Wedding: Lindsey and Greg

January 21, 2015 By Jackie Fo 1 Comment

It’s been quite  week and technically there haven’t been two full working days yet! Between meetings, networking, photo shoot planning and new bride consults it’s been a busy 36 hours over here at Jackie Fogartie Events. But I’m not going to start acting like the busiest person in the universe because we all know that gets old real quick…let’s just say I’ve had this blog post started for like 7 years and am SO glad to be able to get it out the door so you can see the prettiness for yourself!

Lindsey and Greg were my last but certainly not least wedding couple of 2014.  Can I just say it? I. Love. Them. They were so in love, so much fun and seriously, can we talk about how gorgeous Lindsey is? I mean…her hair? I die. So, I’m sorry if I’m being creepy but I’m just obsessed with them and I don’t care who knows it!

Greg & Lindsey's Trolley Museum Wedding

These stunning photos are from the wonderful LunahZon Photography. For serious, Jeremy and Debby are fun to work with and crazy talented. To get a glimpse into their photography persona, here’s a snippet directly from the LunahZon website!

LunahZon is unique, artsy, fun, creative, fresh, beautiful, dynamic, passionate, and crazy. We sometimes go by “LZP” and love long walks on the beach at night. We’re in love with each other, and we’re in love with the world. We’re highly positive and we will fight and banish any negative vibes.

I mean come on, how can you not love these positive photogs with a description like that??

Full vendor listing at the end of this post.

So as I mentioned, Lindsey and Greg are fun as can be and not shabby to look at either. Here’s Lindsey with her beautiful daughters. And yes, although she looks like their SISTER she’s actually their mama!! We can all hope to look like Lindsey after having 3 kiddos!!

Lindsey’s son is being carried by the groom (Greg, on the left) and the groomsmen in the below photo!

Lindsey and Greg did a first look on what was a beautiful fall day in Uptown Charlotte.

Greg & Lindsey's Trolley Museum Wedding

They spent some time in front of the Firebird or “Disco Chicken” as it’s called by Charlotte natives in front of the Bechtler Museum.

…and at Latta Arcade.

Greg & Lindsey's Trolley Museum Wedding

The ceremony and reception were both held at the Charlotte Trolley Museum in South End Charlotte where fall touches and candlelight decorated the space.

The aforementioned candlelight lined the ceremony aisle. And yes, those were a hella lot of candles to light. My trusty assistant Teresa (or Teresebabe as she is known around these parts) was awesome and helped me immeasurably during this wedding.

I did have the absolute pleasure of working with one of the cutest flower girls I’ve seen to date. Here I am (with a strange look on my face btw…what’s that about) coaxing her down the aisle! She’s all like, girl I don’t need you “I GOT THIS.”

Greg & Lindsey's Trolley Museum Wedding

Here she is walking….

Greg & Lindsey's Trolley Museum Wedding

Here she is with her mom dumping her petals out of the basket …wait what??

Greg & Lindsey's Trolley Museum Wedding

And here she is swimming in the petals…

And here’s the aftermath. This was hilarious with a capital “H” and will be talked about for years to come! Just like when I was a little flower girl at my aunt and uncles wedding many moons ago…I dragged that poor little ringbearer down the aisle and said “come on, you’re not going fast enough!!!” Poor little guy.

Greg & Lindsey's Trolley Museum Wedding

After all that cuteness, Greg and Lindsey got married and then it was GO TIME as we flipped the ceremony space into a reception area and sent guests outside for cocktail hour in the heated tent.

Then the space looked like THIS and Greg and Lindsey did their first dance under the twinkle lights.

Delicious food from Delectables by Holly was served and they totally rocked it. I had a taste of the chicken and waffles and it was a-mayyyy-zing.

Greg & Lindsey's Trolley Museum Wedding

Wow Factor Cakes totally rocked in the wedding cake department as per usual!

And the guests danced the night away, including Greg who totally got his groove on like in this candid shot.

I love this photo of Lindsey’s daughters laughing. Too sweet!

And finally, a parting photo of the happy couple in the Trolley car! I wish them so much happiness and love but I promise you, they don’t need my well wishes – they will be totes fine.

And if you think I do a lot of events at the Charlotte Trolley Museum, you’re right! I’m the event facilitator for the venue so I happen to work with a lot of folks who have their events right on site!  We do everything from weddings (duh) to baby showers, corporate events and more. I was definitely fortunate to get hooked up with Charlotte Trolley a few years back when I was starting my business as it’s brought me many lovely clients like Lindsey and Greg. Although if you want me to be your event or wedding planner at any venue, don’t hesitate as I work anywhere and everywhere in Charlotte! Here’s Lindsey and Greg’s full vendor list of their fab wedding!
